NVCA offers outdoor learning opportunities that support confident, resourceful and community-minded Guides!

Whether you’re looking for basic group camping or a weekend of planned activities, our professional outdoor educators will design a program specifically for your Guide’s interests and skills.

Pricing &​​ Details

​Design your program to fit your unit’s needs!​

Tiffin-Led Environmental Education
  • Full Day Program – $16.75/youth
  • Half-Day Program – $11.65/youth
  • Leaders and adult volunteers attend free-of-charge.  Fee includes use of program-appropriate indoor and/or outdoor venues.
  • Minimum of 20 youth per program, or $335 for a full-day, $233 for a half-day program.
Campfire Meals
  • Offered with programs led by our environmental educators;  youth roast their own hot dogs over an open fire!
  • Hot Dogs and All the Fixings – $2 each  
  • Hot Chocolate  – $15/unit
Outdoor Venue Rentals
  • Outdoor Classroom (maximum 30 people) –  $108/day
  • Picnic Pavilion (maximum 80 people) –  $216/day
  • Forest Cabin (maximum 25 people) –  $216/day
  • Pond Rental – price dependent on activity
Group Camping
  • Camping –  $10.80/camper/night
  • Minimum of 20 campers, or $200 per night. 
  • Includes firewood.
Other Rentals
  • All-terrain Wheelchair no charge

Booking a program

  • All programs must be reserved in advance.
  • All programs involve outdoor activity, and run rain, snow or shine.
  • Break time activities and discipline are leaders’ responsibility.

Program Reservation Procedure

  • Step 1:  Email us at outdoored@nvca.on.ca or call 705-424-1479 ext. 280 to select a date and discuss program availability.
  • Step 2:  Once your date is confirmed, complete and submit your booking form. 

Program Cancellation Policy

  • There is no charge to cancel if at least 2 weeks’ notice is given before your scheduled visit. 
  • If you cancel with less than 2 weeks’ notice, your group will be charged for 50% of the scheduled number of participants or the minimum fee.
  • An exemption is given for inclement weather. Please call to reschedule.

Transportation

  • Leaders are responsible for arranging their own transportation.

How to Book a Program

  • Step 1:  Email us at outdoored@nvca.on.ca or speak directly with our environmental ​education manager​ at 705-424-1479 ext 280 to select a date and discuss program availability.
  • Step 2:  Once date has been selected & confirmed, you will receive a booking form.  
  • Step 3:  Complete, save, and return booking form with all pertinent details to outdoored@nvca.on.ca.
  • Step 4:  You will be sent an​ email to confirm we have received your booking form.​

​Cancellation Policy

There is no charge to cancel a booking provided at least two weeks’ notice is given before your scheduled visit.

If a cancellation is received with less than 2 weeks’ notice, your group will be charged for 50% of the scheduled number of students or the minimum fee.

In the event buses are cancelled due to inclement weather or teacher union job action, the cancellation fee is not required if the program is rebooked.

Please contact our environmental education facilitator to reschedule should this occur.

Transportation

Leaders are responsible for arranging their own transportation.

Damages

As with all NVCA clients, visiting groups are responsible for the condition of the property and the conduct of participants. Damage to NVCA property may result in withdrawal of future booking privileges and users will be charged for any replacement costs, repairs and/or cleaning.
