NVCA Species at Risk workshop on Lake Sturgeon
Lake Sturgeon
Join the NVCA to learn more about Lake Sturgeon in the Nottawasaga Valley watershed. Our biologists will discuss this species' characteristics, life history, current species status and management practices, plus what you can do to help protect this fish in our watershed.

This FREE workshop takes place on Wednesday, November 25th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Essa Township Administration Centre.

NVCA 50th Anniversary Photo Contest
NVCA photo contest promoThe NVCA is celebrating 50 Years of Conservation in 2010. Watershed residents and visitors are invited to submit photos of their favourite conservation lands or environmental restoration projects in the NVCA watershed.
Contest runs from August 1, 2009 until March 26, 2010.

Conservation Champions celebrated at Evening of Thanks
2009 Conservation Champion - home pageConservation Champion awards were presented at the 3rd annual Evening of Thanks on Nov. 3rd to individuals and groups who go above and beyond to protect and restore our watershed. 
Recipients were the Bass Lake Ratepayers Association; Bruce Haire, Editor Emeritus of the New Tecumseth Times; William Brooks and Troy Wilson, members of the South Simcoe Streams Network; Kyle Pearson, Youth Champion; and Bernie Longson, Harold McMaster and Frank Ford, members of the retired Fort Willow Improvement Group who received a special recognition award.
