Looking to get your feet wet in the fast-flowing world of river restoration? If so, Minesing Wetlands could use your help! Join NVCA and the Nature Conservancy of Canada to create fish habitat and prevent jams along the Mad River by securing logs on the banks.

For this event, we’ll travel by canoe down the Mad River to reach our restoration sites within the wetlands. It’s guaranteed to be a satisfying, adventurous and wet day! This event is suitable for ages 14 and up.​

Edible Wild Walk - Autumn

Location: Tottenham Tract, Simcoe Forest


Karen Stephenson​ will identify plants and describe their edible and medicinal values, ending off with a wild-plant beverage (bring your own mug). Karen is a certified Master Naturalist who has been a forager for over ten years and a wild food educator for five.

Cost: $20. Pay at event. Cash only.

Mushroom Foray

If you want these and all your other questions about mushrooms answered, join renowned naturalist Bob Bowles and learn how mushrooms grow, where they grow, how to identify them, their relationship with trees and the soil, and what species are edible. 

Cost: $15. Pay at event. Cash only.
