Low Water Conditions Summary for July 2018
Issued August 9, 2018
The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority monitors
low water conditions throughout the growing season in order to provide information to water users and the public. Recent streamflow and precipitation amounts are compared to low water technical indicators established for the province in the “Ontario Low Water Response” document (March 2010).
A Low Water Response Team consisting of provincial ministry representatives, municipal staff and irrigators from areas of interest for drought considers the available data and makes declarations on low water conditions when necessary.
NVCA staff have analyzed low water conditions for the month of July and can confirm that we remain in normal conditions. Available rain and stream flow gauges were generally within normal ranges for the month.
Ongoing monitoring of conditions will continue throughout the summer and updates will be provided as appropriate.
