Nottawasaga Valley Source Protection Authority
Source water is untreated water from streams, lakes, rivers or underground aquifers that people use for drinking water supply. Source Water Protection looks to stop contaminants from getting into sources of drinking water — lakes, rivers and underground aquifers — and preventing overuse of these water resources.
The Nottawasaga Valley Source Protection Authority (NVSPA) is one of three source protection authorities
for the
South Georgian Bay Lake Simcoe Source Protection Region. The NVSPA is authorized to act under Ontario's Clean Water Act. The powers to be exercised by the NVSPA are exercised by the NVCA Board of Directors and a representative appointed by the Region of Peel.
