Winter Bird Count for Kids is a fun, family-friendly community science event that contributes to scientific research. Volunteers from Nature Barrie will be showing families how to spot and recognize the birds that make Tiffin their winter home.

Come prepared for the weather and bring binoculars and a field guide, if you have them. Additional binoculars and guides will be available for use at the event.

  • Registration is required.
  • $5/per person covers parking and hot chocolate. Children under four are free.
  • All ages welcome. Adult supervision is required.
  • COVID-19 protocols will be in place

Volunteers from Nature Barrie will start the day with a short introduction and lesson on birds that we may encounter. After that it's time to head out on the trails to spot the birds that make Tiffin their home in the winter.

Once the last participant has returned, we warm up with hot chocolate and to a round-up of the sightings and observations of the day.
