NVCA Strategic Plan 2014 2018
The Nottawasaga Valley Watershed Management Plan was developed in 1996, and intended to provide direction for resource management in the Nottawasaga Valley Watershed. The Watershed Plan attempts to coordinate existing provincial legislation and policy into a useful background document which: supports and addresses a wide variety of land use issues; identifies key responsibilities of stakeholders; and makes recommendations for the implementation of resource management actions.

NVCA Watershed Plan 1996 Executive Summary
In 2006, a strategic review of the plan was conducted to address issues that had arisen since the plan was completed. This review examined the Watershed Plan's strategic directions, issues and recommendations, and assessed the effectiveness of its implementation. This review highlights the importance of integrating the long-term Watershed Plan with the annual Business Plan processes. The NVCA has developed an annual business planning process that ensures the implementation of the Watershed Plan's strategic directions as well as providing the capability to implement new local and provincial initiatives.
NVCA Watershed Plan Strategic Review 2006
In 2018, NVCA began a process to develop an updated Integrated Watershed Management Plan (IWMP) for our area. Details on this process can be found under Planning & Permits.
The 2015-2018 Business Plan provides direction for the immediate term for the NVCA.
The Business Plan is developed by the Board of Directors and staff, who review past accomplishments to develop strategic actions and targets to advance the Authority's mission.
The Board's approval of the Business Plan provides guidance and specific direction for the implementation of the approved budget, and forecasts targets for the following two years.
The Business Plan includes program actions and financial forecasts; however, many are subject to provincial initiatives and mandates that can affect our program delivery, including:
The Clean Water Act, the Source Water Protection Plan development and implementation, the Intergovernmental Action Plan - Assimilative Capacity Study initiative and the Places to Grow and Green Belt Legislation.
