Mushroom Foray

Have you always wondered what those mushrooms growing under your pine trees are? Are you curious to know about the relationships between mushrooms and trees? Do you wonder why we have mushrooms at all? 

If you want these and all your other questions about mushrooms answered, join renowned naturalist Bob Bowles and learn how mushrooms grow, where they grow, how to identify them, their relationship with trees and the soil, and what species are edible. 

Cost: $15. Pay at event. Cash only.

Registration required, spaces are limited to ensure a high quality experience for all participants.

TD Tree Days - Shelburne Volunteer Plant

Volunteers Needed!​

NVCA is hosting a TD Tree ​Days​ event in Shelburne!

We are looking for volunteers to help us plant 300 trees along Walters and Beasley Creeks. Groups are welcome to attend, as are high school students (eligible for community hours).

TD Tree Days - Minesing Wetlands Volunteer Plant

NVCA is hosting a TD Tree D​ays​ event at the along the internationally significant Minesing Wetlands!

We are looking for volunteers to help us plant 500 trees along the Mad River. Groups are welcome to attend, as are high school students (eligible for community hours).

Festival at Fort Willow

Come to Fort Willow and witness life as it was during the early 19th century with hands-on demonstrations for all ages!

  • military, First Nations and voyageur encampments
  • cannon and musket firing demonstrations
  • re-enactors and authentic demonstrations of medicine, sewing, cooking, weaving, blacksmithing and more
  • children’s activities including musket drills, candle making and beading

FREE ADMISSION. Food and beverages will be available for sale.  Cash only please.​

Hike the Bruce - Small Halls Festival Event

This is an escorted hike on the Bruce Trail at the Nottawasaga Bluffs Conservation Area. You won't want to miss the spectacular 'clear views' from the look out!

Free admission as part of the Small Halls Festival

Meet at the Singhampton Community Centre  on Sunday September 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM sharp. Dress for the weather. Please bring your own water and snacks.

Christmas Bird Count for Kids

A springtime tradition!  Maple syrup takes centre stage at the Spring Tonic festival, with a pancake and sausage breakfast served daily until 2 p.m. 

This event runs both Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7. Check back for more details.
