In partnership with the community, the Conservation Services Program with NVCA works on local projects that protect and restore our environment, and helps ensure the future of our healthy water.

The Healthy Waters Program supports landowners within the watershed improve water quality by implementing restoration projects on private property. These projects are cost-shared with the landowner and funding partners for the benefit of all watershed residents.

Some examples of restoration projects that have been undertaken include the Nottawasaga River Restoration Program, implementation of agricultural best management practices and tree planting.

Every year, NVCA’s Forestry program plants approximately 100,000 trees on private properties throughout the watershed. Trees that are planted through NVCA’s programs include timber management/production plantings.
