Winter is a wonderful time to explore nature

Many NVCA conservation areas offer snowshoeing trails, perfect for beginners and experts alike. 

Fort Willow house

Length: 0.5 km looped trail
Location: Fort Willow Conservation Area

This trail will take you into the heart of Historic Fort Willow. If the snow’s not too deep, you may be able to see the outline of the fort’s former buildings.

Snowshoeing in Mad River Minesing

Length: 1.5 km keyhole trail
Location: Minesing Wetlands Conservation Area

This trail takes you along the Mad River as it meanders through the Minesing Wetlands. The 12’-high waterfowl viewing tower offers a bird’s eye view of the wetland and its inhabitants.
