Low-Water Forecasting
The NVCA monitors the watershed for low-water situations. Depending on the water level, the Authority may issue the following low water status levels.
Normal
Level 1
- Precipitation criteria = less than 80 % of 3-month average precipitation
- Streamflow criteria = monthly flow less than 70 % of the lowest average summer month flow
Level 2
- Precipitation criteria = less than 60 % of 3-month average precipitation
- Streamflow criteria = monthly flow less than 50 % of the lowest average summer month flow
Level 3
- Precipitation criteria = less than 40 % of 3-month average precipitation
- Streamflow criteria = monthly flow less than 30 % of the lowest average summer month flow
