Who are we?
The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority (NVCA) is one of Ontario’s 36 conservation authorities dedicated to innovative watershed management supporting a healthy environment, communities, and lifestyles. Our jurisdiction includes 18 municipalities in the County of Simcoe, County of Dufferin, Grey County, and the western part of the City of Barrie and spans approximately 3700 sq. km. Our watershed includes significant landform features, such as the Minesing Wetlands, the Niagara Escarpment, and the Oak Ridges Moraine.

If you are a member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technologists and Technicians (OACETT) and have your Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.), the annual salary rate is $72,454.20 (Grade 5 – 2024 salary grid) based on a 35-hour work week. If you do not have your C.E.T. or are working towards it, then the annual salary rate is $65,902.20 (Grade 4 – 2024 salary grid) based on a 35-hour work week until your C.E.T is obtained.
This position is a contract position until December 2025, with the possibility of an extension and/or possibility of being made permanent full-time.
Summary of Functions
Responsible for the review and commenting on development applications associated with the Planning Act and the Authority’s Regulations with a focus on water resources engineering.
Act as a resource to the Engineering team by providing input to designs for internal projects using engineering practices and computer modelling. These include but not limited to, engineering studies and special projects.
Eligibility Requirements
Ideally, the incumbent has a post-secondary education in Civil or Water Resources Engineering or similar discipline and a minimum of five (5) years of directly related experience. The ideal candidate will also be a member of OACETT with their C.E.T or be eligible for certification. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and computer skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team. You must have a valid Ontario driver’s license.
