Kids Birthday Parties

Take the Party Outside!

Offered in the Spring, Fall and Winter, the Tiffin Centre for Conservation offers exciting outdoor activities and learning opportunities to make your child’s birthday party fun and memorable!

From snowshoeing to geocaching to scouting for wildlife, our parties combine a fun outdoor experience with an appreciation of the natural world here at the beautiful 300+ acre Tiffin Centre. Our educators will lead party guests in the program of your choice, then you can use our party room to share food, games and other party fun under your own supervision.

Party programs

While the following programs are suggested, we’ll work with you to plan a party around your child’s specific interests. Note that all programming takes place outside, so have your guests come prepared for the weather!

Suitable for All Ages

Predator & Prey – This role playing game helps kids learn about predator/prey relationships and how animals survive in the wild
Life in the Pond – Kids dip-net for pond creatures and investigate their findings
Wildlife Detectives – Hunt for signs of animals and learn how they adapt to the environment
“Lost in the Woods” Wilderness Skills – Learn valuable life skills and how to prepare for outdoor adventure
Outdoor Recreation – Depending on the season, try your hand at orienteering, snowshoeing and/or kick-sledding
Maple Sugar Bush Visit – Spring birthday? Come for a sweet trip through the sugar bush

For younger children (3 to 6)

Nature Discovery Hike – Explore nature through your senses! See how animals explore and adapt to nature with their senses compared to us.
Animal Amble – Party guests travel with a leader to find animal pictures along a well-marked trail. They will match and record which animal they see at each station…a fun scavenger hunt that helps develop basic map work.
Nature Book Walk – Hiking with a leader, party guests read a nature-based story as they explore the forest.

For older children (7 to 9)

Nature Photography – Using digital cameras, party guests find their inner artist as they explore the forest, wetlands and meadows of the Tiffin Centre
Paint Day – Children use watercolours to explore the Tiffin Centre with art. Each guest creates their own party take away.

For youth (9 and up)

GPS Adventure Party – Dive into the world of geocaching and learn how to use handheld GPS units to navigate and find hidden locations, using clever location names as a clue.
Team Dynamics and Low Ropes Challenge – This program challenges participants to work together to succeed at fun, safe, co-operative games
Disc Golf at Tiffin’s 9-basket course

Booking your Party

Step 1: Have a look at the Party Brochure to see what programs we offer, then call to speak with our education staff at 705-424-1479 ext. 280 to select a date and program.

Step 2: To ensure the your preferred date is available, ask us to send you a booking form by emailing outdoored@nvca.on.ca.

Step 3: Complete your booking form and return it to us along with a deposit of at least 50% of the total price including HST.

Party Prices

3 hours – $378 for up to 20 children ($14.75/additional child)

Includes 2 hours of programming conducted by Tiffin staff, plus time to enjoy presents and refreshments if you wish (planned and facilitated by party hosts).

2 hours – $258 for up to 20 children ($10.60/additional child)

Includes 1 hour of programming conducted by Tiffin staff, plus time to enjoy presents and refreshments if you wish (planned and facilitated by party hosts).

Included in the cost of the party is the use of our birthday party table cloths, dishes, 2 chip bowls, juice jugs and cutlery. If you decide to bring your own materials you will be asked to take all garbage and waste with you when you leave.

Add-ons:

Additional hours – $117 per hour for up to 20 children
Hot dog roast – hot dogs (with buns and condiments) for $3 each

Parents/guardians and other adult volunteers attend free.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Payment in full is due upon booking. If an event is cancelled with two or more weeks’ notice, the payment will be refunded minus a $50 administration fee. If an event is cancelled with less than two weeks’ notice, 50% the total amount paid (that is, 50% of the party cost) will be refunded.
