Weddings, Events & Group Camping

NVCA’s conservation areas offer your group an opportunity to gather in nature: forests, meadows, ponds and wetlands.  A number of outdoor venues are available to rent for private functions.

The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority offers two venues for wedding celebrations – the Tiffin Centre for Conservation and the Historic Fort Willow Conservation Area. ​

Group Campgr​​ound – Tiffin Centre

​
The Group Campground is a peaceful area with plenty of flat ground for tenting and a grassy area perfect for playing games. It also includes a lockable storage shed, “dry” outhouses with running-water sinks​, a fire pit and a stone fireplace. It is suitable for up to 50 people – larger groups may be accommodated with the rental of additional outdoor toilets. The campsite is for use by approved groups only.​
  • Capacity – 50 ppl. (higher capacity may be available upon request)
  • Accessibility – accessible​ washroom (outhouse), however sandy soil and grassy terrain may make some wheelchair access difficult; please contact NVCA about using an all-terrain wheelchair​
  • Amenities – ​fire pit and stone fireplace/oven, outhouses, non-potable water (warm months only), storage upon request.
  • Minimum group size is 20 campers/night.​

​​New! A second group camp site is slated to open in 2018. This campground will accommodate an additional 50 campers with a new “dry” outhouse, fire pit and picnic tables. A shared potable water tap is also being added.​

Outdoor Class​room – Tiffin Centre

The Outdoor Classroom is a two-sided wooden building just down the boardwalk from the Jose Building. Sheltered from the elements, it can serve as an outdoor meeting spot, breakout room or meal area for a small group. 

  • Capacity – 30 ppl. ​at tables, 100 bench seating 
  • Accessibility – fully accessible
  • Amenities – bench seating (tables and other seating options availa​ble)

Picnic Pavillio​​n – Tiffin Centre

Picnic Pavilion is a perfect space for a larger picnic, barbecue or other outdoor event. Its kitchen includes a fridge and a sink with running, potable water (warm months only). There is a wood stove for heat if needed. Picnic tables provide indoor seating for 80 people, and more can be accommodated outside. There is a campfire spot, and a propane barbecue is available to rent.

Low Ropes C​​​ourse – Tiffin Centre

The Low Ropes Course challenges participants to work together to succeed at various tasks that progress in complexity. Lead by​ our environmental educators​, these fun, safe games promote teamwork, leadership, trust, communication and problem solving skills.

Ponds ​​& Trails – Tiffin Centre

The ponds a​nd trails at the Tiffin Centre offer opportunities for hiking, geocaching and other recreational activities. Educational programming and some recreational equipment may be arranged for your group if you wish.

Bernie Longson Memorial Pavi​​lion ​- Fort Willow

The Bernie Longson Memorial Pavilion is a stately post-and-beam structure that provides shade and protection from the rain without distracting from the beauty of the natural surroundings. This is a lovely spot for events such as family picnics, company BBQs or a rustic wedding ceremony. 
  • Capacity – 80 ppl.
  • Accessibility – fully accessible
  • Amenities – outhouses (no running water)
