The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority and the Rotary Club of Barrie are looking for volunteers for the Spring Tonic Maple Syrup Festival that will be taking place April 11 and 12.
This is an opportunity for high school students to earn some volunteer hours.
The festival is an annual event that has been held for over three decades and celebrates an important Canadian tradition – maple syrup. Every year, the festival offers many activities like tractor wagon rides, petting exotic animals, and learning outdoor skills with cadets.
Volunteers play a major role in the festival’s success. All proceeds from the event go towards the community and the maintenance of NVCA’s conservation areas.
The festival is looking for volunteers to help with parking, interactive tree-tapping demonstrations, overseeing the craft room, bird box building station, button making and more.
A brief orientation will be provided for volunteers at the beginning of each shift, and lunch will be provided for volunteers working for a full day.
The festival runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day.
To ensure the event runs as smoothly as possible, volunteers are asked to be available between 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
