Edenvale Conservation Area

Found on the banks of the Nottawasaga River in the hamlet of Edenvale, this scenic conservation area offers visitors a convenient place to rest, picnic, launch their small boat or drop a fishing line. Edenvale Conservation Area is known locally as the ‘take-out’ after a canoe trip through the Minesing Wetlands.

The parking lot and washrooms at Edenvale Conservation Area are now open the season.

Caution to paddlers: water levels are currently very high. Please proceed with caution, and follow these paddling safety tips.

Getting there

Located at 3920 Highway 26 (map)
From the City of Barrie, take Highway 26 west to Edenvale. Cross the Nottawasaga River and turn right at the third driveway into the conservation area. Please look for the sign to the Conservation Area as there are private properties close by.
The area is open spring to fall, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Photography Permits

If you are a professional photographer, or plan to take photos that typically require professional services (such as portraits, family sessions, engagements, or wedding photography) a permit is required. For any sessions resembling a professional photo shoot, we ask that you obtain a permit in advance.

Photography for personal enjoyment is permitted and encouraged in all NVCA public conservation areas. Personal photography includes casual photos taken for individual use, such as landscapes, wildlife, or informal photos with friends and family.

The proceeds from the sale of NVCA’s Photography Permits goes directly to the Conservation Lands programs and maintenance of NVCA’s conservation areas.

Please stay on the trails and respect all postings with regards to trail or area closures.
